Easy DIY Glue Gun textured Art

This easy glue gun textured art is a super simple way to create unique textured artwork with just a few supplies that delivers amazing results. The best part of this project is that it is completely customizable so you can choose the design, size and color to match your style and room decor. The possibilities are really endless!

Start with a blank canvas. If you don't want to buy one, you can easily do this on a piece of wood or even cardboard.

Because I was using a small 8x8 canvas, I knew I wanted to do more than one and hang them together in a group. Depending on how skilled you are with the glue gun, the design can be as simple or intricate as you want. I have zero artistic ability so I went with a simple starburst pattern using a ruler, and repeated on each canvas.

Once the image is drawn on the canvas, it's time to break out the glue gun. Simply trace over your image with the hot glue and let dry. I used straight lines, alternating the amount of glue I was putting down to create a more textured effect.

Hot glue dries extremely quickly, so it will be ready to paint within minutes. You can use any type of paint you like. Spray paint works great, but for this project I used some leftover interior wall paint that we already had.

Once they were finished, I put them in a frame with white matting for a more finished and polished look. They look great without frames as well because of the texture, but because my design was so simple, I wanted to add a little extra. This was such a quick and easy project that I'm definitely going to do again. Stay tuned for the next one.......
